Keep your chimneys clean and safe.

Chimney cleaning services is something everyone will need if you have a fireplace, wood, oil or gas burning stove. Creosote deposits build up over time, creating a serious fire hazard that can ignite inside your chimney even when you use your fireplace for short periods or infrequently.

As a full service cleaning company, Majestic Steam offers cleaning of your fireplace, wood burning stove and furnace chimney. A trained technician will clean and inspect your chimney for any creosote build up.

According to The National Fire Protection Association manual (NFPA 211), "Chimneys, fireplaces, and vents shall be inspected at least once a year for soundness, freedom from deposits, and correct clearances. Cleaning, maintenance, and repairs shall be done if necessary." An annual chimney inspection is the national safety standard and is the best way to ensure a safely functioning chimney. Even if you don't use your chimney much, animals may build nests in the flue or there may be other types of blockage or deterioration that could make the chimney unsafe to use. This applies to gas and oil furnace flues as well. An annual inspection is necessary to ensure that the chimney has adequate draft, is free of debris and cracks, and has no loose or missing mortar joints, or in the case of prefabricated chimneys, misaligned joints due to vibration caused by the wind.

Majestic will send out a crew to clean and inspect of the pipes of your wood burning stove and furnace chimney leading from the inside of your home up to your chimney caps & screen.

We use special brushes and tools designed to fit your chimney flu and a special vacuum to remove creosote deposits from inside your home. This means we leave no mess when cleaning your the chimney.

A burning fire produces several byproducts. Carbon monoxide is one of these byproducts. It is a colorless, odorless gas that is a dangerous health hazard. It causes illness and death if it is inhaled in large amounts. For the safety of your family and guests is critical to that your chimney is maintained properly so that carbon monoxide and other harmful fuel byproducts do not enter your home. Annual inspections are important. You should also have carbon monoxide detectors installed on each floor of your home, as well as near sleeping areas. Carbon monoxide detectors can let you know if there are possible problems with the venting systems of your furnace, gas hot water heater, or gas stove and will keep you from being harmed from prolonged exposure to low levels of carbon monoxide.
